Novel Book Printing for Authors & Publishers
Professional paperback and hardcover novel printing with reader-friendly cream paper, standard trade trim sizes, and optional typesetting and cover design support.
Offset-Quality Novels at Factory Prices
A novel lives or dies by the reading experience: paper that is easy on the eyes, type that sits consistently on every page, and a spine that survives being bent back on a long flight. Qicai Press has printed fiction for independent authors, literary publishers, and book distributors since 1995, and our Heidelberg offset presses hold type density and alignment steady across runs of 500 or 50,000 copies.
Unlike print-on-demand, offset production gives you real choices: genuine cream offset stock, sewn bindings, foil-stamped hardcovers, and per-unit costs that drop sharply as quantities rise. For a first print run we recommend starting at our 500-copy minimum, then re-ordering from your archived plates β re-orders are faster and slightly cheaper, with a 300-copy minimum.

For interiors, most novelists choose 80β90gsm uncoated offset: cream for a warm, glare-free literary feel, or white for crisper contrast. Covers are printed on 250β300gsm coated card with matte or gloss lamination; matte with spot UV or foil is the current retail favorite. Hardcover editions use Smyth sewn binding under cloth, PU, or printed-paper cases, with an optional dust jacket.

Frequently Asked Questions
What file format do you need?
PDF/X-1a is preferred, with 3mm bleed, crop marks, and embedded fonts. We also accept packaged InDesign or Illustrator files. Upload via WeTransfer, Google Drive, or FTP β our pre-press team checks every file free of charge before quoting.
Can I print a small trial run first?
Yes. For 50β300 copies we offer digital printing β no plates, faster turnaround, and near-offset quality. It is ideal for reviewer copies or testing a market before committing to an offset run.
How long does a novel take to produce?
Typical timeline is 4β6 weeks including proofing, printing, PUR or sewn binding, and quality inspection. Sea freight to African and Asian ports adds 25β40 days; air freight 5β10 days for urgent stock.
